Photo from a heavy flight

On my way back from San Diego — after seeing my elder son graduate from Marine Corps boot camp — I sat in the window seat and snapped all kinds of photos from a Southwest Airlines flight at 36,000 feet. It wasn’t light flight, but the idea of “seeingâ€? was still there, and there’s a lot to see.

And a lot of things you see are down-right mysterious. Take for example this absolutely huge conical depression, taken somewhere over Arizona (I think).

It’s obviously man-made, and seems to terminate in an even more mysterious black hole at the bottom. There’s no way I can even estimate it’s size, but a guess would be about 200-400 feet across, and probably 200+ft deep. Adding to the mystery is the perfectly square area, subdivided into four smaller perfect squares, two being pitch black and one having a weird zig-zag feature.

This may have a perfectly normal explanation, but it looks mondo bizarro to me.
